Athletes As part of our commitment to the Long Term Athletic Development program (the LTAD) adopted by the Basketball Canada National Coaching Certification Program, we have our athletes learning the fundamental movement skilss of agility, balance, and coordination at an early age. Through the Learn to Train stage, athletes learn of nutrition, proper stretching, injury prevention, and their own muscular system.
The competitive club team program targets intermediate to elite athletes in grades 3 to 7. Players will be placed on teams (U10, U11, U12, or U13) based on both age and ability. Players playing at a higher ability will be invited to play up. Beginner players are welcome to come out to our recreation skills academy sessions to develop their game and to enable them to move up to one of the teams when ready.
There will be a number of both boys and girls competitive teams this spring. We also have a skills academy for girls and boys in grades 3 - 7 who are looking to develop their skills, confidence, coachability, and basketball IQ before considering the competitive club program.
